The United States Mint is responsible for producing proof and uncirculated coins, commemorative coins and medals, and platinum, gold, and silver bullion coins, often in response to coin programs legislated by Congress in support of civic, philanthropic, and national organizations. To effectively accomplish the goals of these programs, it is crucial for the United States Mint to know and maintain awareness of customer preferences and needs and to continuously monitor customer satisfaction.

This information collection submission is not covered by OMB approved IC Generic Clearance for the United States Mint. The purpose of the information collection will enable the United States Mint to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through offering products that are priced in accordance with customer demands.
This study will help the Sales and Marketing Department better plan the production of these products by contributing to demand forecasts. Improving demand forecasts will directly result in improved cost-effectiveness of our numismatic operations. We will be less likely to produce excess inventory and cost overruns if products are priced correctly.
