Announcement for the 2013 BAS Workshops
In preparation for the upcoming 2013 Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS), the
U.S. Census Bureau is conducting a series of BAS workshops in select cities across the
country in December 2012 through February 2013. These workshops will provide
participants with an overview of the 2013 BAS, an explanation of the geographic boundaries
collected and managed by the Census Bureau, an explanation of the type of information
collected by the BAS, and a review of the procedures for the digital BAS, MAF/TIGER
Partnership Software (MTPS), and paper BAS response methods. Participants may bring a
laptop with boundary data or paper boundary maps to the workshops as there will be an
opportunity to ask Census staff any questions specific to their local boundaries.
Attendance to these workshops is optional, and all interested participants are welcome to
register. Registration for any of these workshops may be done online by going to the 2013
BAS homepage http://www.census.gov/geo/www/bas/bashome.html, clicking on the BAS
Workshops link, and clicking Register Online. Participants may also register by
e-mailing the following information to: [email protected].
