Dear Public Official:

As part of the State Certification Program, the U.S. Census Bureau submits the boundary change information you provided in response to the annual Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) to the governor-appointed State Certifying Official for verification. This program ensures the quality of the boundary information the Census Bureau uses for reporting census and survey data.

During the most recent State Certification cycle, the State Certifying Official notified the Census Bureau that your community had boundary changes that your government did not report in the BAS. The identified boundary changes are listed in the attached document for your review. Currently, none of these boundary changes are in the Census Bureau’s database. If any of these boundary changes are in effect, please update the BAS materials, which will be available to you in December.

If these boundary changes were not implemented or were cancelled, you should notify your state certifying official, who is listed at the bottom of this letter.
