NOTE: This document is intended to standardize Spanish-language administration of the food security questions in the Current Population Survey Food Security Supplement. Translation is not provided for the questions on food spending and food programs preceding this section nor for the coping strategies section that follows it.

SKIP PATTERNS: Follow-up questions are skipped if response to base question is “never” or “no.” These and other indicated skip patterns are implemented automatically by the computerized instrument.

The next questions are about the food eaten in your household in the last 12 months, since December of last year, and whether you were able to afford the food you need.
