Abstract: The purpose of the debt settlement function is to provide the delinquent client with an equitable tool for the compromise, adjustment, cancellation or charge-off of a debt owed to the Agency. Failure to collect information could result in improper servicing of these loans.

Short Statement: We have made adjustments to sections of the burden package based on a thorough review. The decrease of 767 hours reflects an adjustment of the paperwork burden based on historical performance and current activity levels. The program change decrease reflects that fact that Farm Service Agency and Rural Utilities no longer utilize this package.
