The National Marine Fisheries Service
of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA
Fisheries), United States Department of Commerce is planning to
test a survey design, and directly assess the extent of
interactions between charter boat and head boat recreational
anglers and sea turtles. Collection of these data on sea turtle
interactions in the recreational charter boat and head boat sectors
is necessary to fulfill statutory requirements of the Endangered
Species Act (16 U.S.C. 1531 et. seq.) Section 7 analysis, and will
provide necessary data to evaluate impacts on the sea turtle
populations.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
