Justification for Change to the Labor Docket
Change Request for testing the comparability of Farm Labor Categories used by NASS with the SOC codes for the Quarterly Agricultural Labor Survey, OMB No. 0535-0109
NASS is submitting this non-substantive change request for testing the comparability of the farm labor categories used by NASS with the Dept. of Labor’s Standard Occupational Codes (SOC). Prior to the operational labor survey that will be conducted in October, 2013. NASS would like to do a cognitive interview of 25 – 30 operators who responded to the April 2013 labor survey. Based on the information that is gathered during this phase of testing, NASS will develop a supplemental questionnaire to use in October 2013 during the live survey.
A detailed description of the testing procedures is included in the attached documentation. The supplemental questionnaire will be submitted to OMB prior to conducting the October 2013 survey and follow-up test.
The projected increase in respondent burden will be approximately 2,430 hours.
