NRC-regulated facilities and their
contractors who are authorized to possess classified matter are
required to provide information and maintain records to ensure that
an adequate level of protection is provided to NRC classified
information and material.
The overall burden decreased by
119 hours from 1,087 to 968 hours because the number of cleared
facilities has decreased. Approximately six cleared contractor
facilities were terminated because their services were no longer
required by the licensees who sponsored them for a facility
clearance. The reporting burden increased slightly by 9 hours from
805 to 816 hours, and the recordkeeping burden increased slightly
from 149 to 152 hours. The reporting burden had a slight increase
in the responses for facility clearance terminations and changes in
security practices and procedures. The record keeping burden
increased slightly in the area of key and lock accountability
records because two licensee contractors' added key and lock
programs to their standard practice procedures plans. The hourly
fee rates increased from $257/hr. to $274/hr. for professional
effort in this clearance.
