Overall, the annual burden increased by 276 hours. The burden increase is primarily due to more accurate burden estimates based on received data and an increase in the estimated number of new contractor facility clearance submissions. The burden increase was partial offset by a decrease in burden due to a reduction 7 in cleared contractors generating reportable information and a reduction in the number of participants in the Voluntary Security Clearance Program. Due to changes in the nuclear energy industry, the NRC expects that number of cleared entities that require access to classified information will increase over the next three years. The hourly fee rates increased from $279/hr. to $317/hr for professional effort in this clearance.
