Summary of revisions to ICR 1910-5141 (a currently approved collection)

The request for information combines voluntary data collection efforts from three related programs: 1) The Better Buildings Challenge (BBC), the Better Buildings, Better Plants Program, (BBBP), and the Better Buildings Alliance (BBA).

DOE seeks to revise the approved information collection to include two new collections: 1) In-Plant Training activities under the Better Buildings, Better Plants Program to support energy efficiency in the industrial sector, and 2) Better Buildings Alliance activities under the Better Buildings platform to support energy efficiency in the commercial building sector. Together, these collections result in a total hourly burden of 1,112.25 hours, with an average burden of 1.5 hours per response.

In an effort to reduce burden, DOE also consolidated initial and periodic reporting forms for Better Buildings Challenge financial allies, which resulted in a burden reduction of 110 hours. This revision also amends DOE’s estimate for the total annual cost burden to respondents resulting from the collection of information. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics increased the mean hourly wage for industrial engineers from $38.39 to $39.47, May 2012. A summary of the changes to existing collection forms previously approved are referenced in Figure 1.
