The Department of Energy is authorized
to enter into voluntary agreements with U.S. industry under section
106 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Data will be collected
annually from industry pledge participants on progress made towards
the reduction of energy intensity goals established by the
voluntary agreements. The data collected will be used to evaluate
the success of the voluntary agreements and to report results to
congress.
The increase is driven by the
expansion of the Better Buildings, Better Plants Program to include
In-Plant Training activities and integrating the Better Buildings
Alliance under the Better Buildings platform. New collection
instruments have been added and previouly approved collection
activities have been modified.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
