All states have enacted the Uniform
Interstate Family Support Act, as required by Pub. L. 104-193, the
Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of
1996. Each state's UIFSA law authorizes the use of federally
authorized forms promulgated in connection with the IV-D child
support enforcement program and mandated substantial compliance
with those forms. 45 CFR 303.7 also requires IV-D agencies to
transmit child support case information on standard interstate
forms when referring cases to other states for processing. These
standard forms have resulted in substantial improvement.
There is an adjustment due to
the increase in the number of child support cases; however, there
are no program changes.
