The United States International Trade
Commission (Commission), at the request of the House Committee on
Ways and Means and the Senate Committee on Finance (Committees), is
preparing a report on policies in India that discriminate against
U.S. exports and investment. The report will provide a description
of such policies and any recent changes, and it will examine the
effect these policies have had on U.S. firms' strategies toward
India. The report will also describe the effects of restrictive
measures in India on the U.S. economy as a whole, on U.S. trade and
investment, and on selected sectors. In addition to consulting
publicly available sources, the Commission will issue a
questionnaire to firms to collect vital information relevant to the
Committees' request.
