The information collection is required for licensing as required by the United State Warehouse Act (USWA)and provides information for issuance of licenses or approval to determine if warehouse operator meets required standards and continues to meet once licensed or approved.
This information collection represents an adjustment since there has been a decrease in the number of hours from the last OMB approval. The previous number of burden hours requested was 8,817 as compared to the burden hours requested in this package of 8,163 hours for a difference of minus 654 hours. Many of our licensed entities have combined locations thereby making their operation more efficient to run with less reporting and recordkeeping requirements. One form was removed from this request, and this is a minor adjustment is reflected in the total.
As new technologies become affordable, warehouse operators as well as FSA avail themselves of such, adding efficiencies to the system of keeping records. The consolidation and growth of warehouses and farms has been a definite trend, which leads to fewer entities for which records need to be kept.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
