Email from ASTHO representative to State Health Officials to encourage participation by their Immunization Program staff (VFC coordinators and field staff)

Dear <insert name of health official>,

The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) is partnering with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of our Cooperative Agreement to identify key considerations related to pharmacy participation in the VFC program from various stakeholders. A one-page overview of the project is attached to provide you with additional information about the project.

ASTHO has contracted with Cole Communications, Inc. to conduct telephone interviews with VFC staff as well as pharmacy representatives in your state.

The objectives of these data gathering efforts are to: (a) identify opportunities and challenges of pharmacy participation in VFC programs, (b) identify potential impacts of pharmacy participation on the VFC program structure and stakeholders, (c) identify current models of state-wide VFC programs with pharmacy participation, and (d) identify current statutes and legislation that may impact pharmacy participation in VFC programs. We hope your VFC coordinator and field staff, as key stakeholders, will be willing to participate in a telephone interview for this project. Within the next week, a team member from Cole Communications will be contacting your VFC coordinator and field staff to schedule a telephone interview.
