The BSEE uses the information collected under the subpart A regulations to ensure that operations on the OCS are carried out in a safe and pollution-free manner, do not interfere with the rights of other users on the OCS, and balance the protection and development of OCS resources.
The current OMB inventory for this collection includes 50,859 burden hours. In this submission, we are requesting a total of 84,391 hours. This represents an adjustment increase of 33,532 hours. The increase is due to re-estimating the average number of annual responses and the amount of time required to respond. We are adding Form BSEE-0011 to this collection, which includes 9 annual burden hours due to agency discretion. The current OMB non-hour cost burden inventory is $3,268,848. In this submission, we are requesting a total of $1,371,458. This represents an adjustment decrease of $1,897,390. The decrease is due to re-estimating the average number of annual responses times its associated non-hour cost burden.
