The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) collects license, registration, catch, and unloading information from purse seine vessels fishing within a large region of the central and western Pacific Ocean governed by the Treaty of Fisheries between the governments of Certain Pacific Island States and the government of the United States of America. The information collected is required to meet obligations under that Treaty. This change requests adds a request for information on the catch report when there has been encirclement of a whale shark by a certain class of vessel.
