TELEPHONE INTERVIEW GUIDE FOR PARENTS


NOTE: Telephone interviews with a sample of parents/guardians of students participating in School Turnaround AmeriCorps will be conducted at the end of the school year. The interview will include both open-ended and survey-style questions.


  1. Are you aware of the new School Turnaround AmeriCorps program at your child’s school? The AmeriCorps program is also known as [FILL IN GRANTEE ORGANIZATION’S NAME HERE].


If no, ask questions 13a, 13b and 13c, then end the survey.


  1. How did you hear about the program?

  2. Has your child participated in the program?

  3. What activities has your child taken part in?

  4. How does your child feel about the new AmeriCorps program?

  5. Have you been involved in the program?

  6. If so, how have you taken part?

  7. What is your opinion about the new AmeriCorps program?

  8. Since your child started participating in the program, have you become more involved in your child’s school?

  9. Since your child started participating in the program, have you received greater access to information and resources about how you can support your child’s education?
