Subject: Attention: Cancer Survivorship Needs Assessment coming soon!

Dear <Program Director>

The Division of Cancer Prevention and Control at CDC has contracted with Battelle to conduct a needs assessment on its behalf, in order to learn about the current cancer survivorship needs of the comprehensive cancer control (CCC) programs, and to identify the types of activities, resources, and materials that could help CCC programs address those needs. In addition, we would also like to learn how activities undertaken and materials produced by the National Cancer Survivorship Resource Center (NCSRC) have met the survivorship needs of CCC programs to date.

The National Cancer Survivorship Resource Center (NCSRC) is funded by the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC) to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies outlined in the National Action Plan for Cancer Survivorship: Advancing Public Health Strategies. One of the main activities of the NCSRC is to assist National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (NCCCP) grantees address the public health needs of cancer survivors in their jurisdictions.

We ask that CCC program directors – or a designated staff person who is most familiar with survivorship-related program activities – to participate in this brief online assessment to ascertain grantees’ current and future needs for resources that support survivorship programs, and their satisfaction with current resources and materials. Participation in the assessment is voluntary, and answers will not be linked to any of the respondents personally.

You can expect to receive an email from Battelle in the near future with further instructions on how to participate.
