SUBJECT: Non-Substantive Change Request for 0925-0299
Title: NIH Office of Intramural Training & Education Application
Expiration Date: August 31, 2016

The NIH Office of Intramural Training & Education (OITE) wishes to submit a nonsubstantive change request to our current OMB Clearance 0925-0299, expiration date
August 31, 2016. This submission was recently approved for use by the OITE for the
various training programs and opportunities to prospective intramural trainees.
http://www.reginfo.gov/public/do/PRAViewICR?ref_nbr=201307-0925-002.
Recently, the NIH partnered with the Amgen Foundation
(https://www.training.nih.gov/amgenscholars) to bring select students to the NIH
Intramural Research Program for a summer research experience. Students wishing to be
considered for admission into the NIH-Amgen program must meet the eligibility
requirements as well as complete and submit the NIH Summer Internship Program (SIP)
application. Although the SIP application contains many of the standard Amgen
Foundation application questions, there are several questions that were not included in
our current clearance. The additional questions cover the following areas: Additional
Academic Information, How Did You Hear About the Amgen Scholars Program, and
Research Experience.
Upon approval of use, the OITE will contact the students wishing to be considered for the
NIH-Amgen program and ask that they complete the supplemental questions.
The OITE estimates a minimal increase to the respondent burden for the proposed
modification.
