What Is the Purpose of This Request? [section header]

This request is used with Form I-508 by certain French nationals receiving a salary from the French Republic whose occupational status entitles them to nonimmigrant status under section 101(a)(15)(A) or (G) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) as a government official or international organization representative, respectively. French national requestors use Form I-508F to waive the benefits conferred by The Convention between the Government of the United States and the Government of the French Republic for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and Property, as amended (“Convention”).
