Who must comply?	An owner and operator of a commercial diving operation, and any vessel or facility that supports commercial diving.
What is this collection about?	The information is used by the CG to ensure compliance with U.S. regulations for design, installation, and operation of commercial diving activities.

When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?	An owner or operator of a commercial diving operation—or a vessel or facility that supports commercial diving—must maintain records and periodically submit reports to the Coast Guard (CG) Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI) before a commercial diving operation can take place.
How is the information submitted?	In writing or electronically via e-mail. Information is submitted to the CG OCMI. Contact info is below.
What happens when complete information is received?	The OCMI will review the information and determine if a commercial diving operation is in compliance with the requirements. The CG will advise the commercial diving owner/operator in writing of the results of the review.

The Coast Guard estimates that the average burden per response for this report varies per information collection—about 15 minutes to record VCS facility maintenance; 1.5 hours for a new tank vessel VCS submission; 2 hours for a certifying entity submission; and up to 34.5 hours for a new facility VCS submission.
