Dear ____,
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service is sponsoring a study with Westat. Westat is looking for participants for a 60-minute interview. Participants in this study will answer and talk about questions that will be used on a survey about SNAP participation and work. Your responses will be kept private, except as otherwise required by law. The feedback will help improve the survey before using it with a full sample of survey respondents.
The interviews will be conducted at Westat in Rockville, Maryland, during the period of March 4th through March 15th.
To be eligible, you must:
Currently receive SNAP benefits;
Be between the ages of 18 and 69; and
NOT currently receive disability benefits.
Participation in this study is voluntary. You can skip any survey or interview question and stop the interview at any time. Stopping the interview or choosing not to participate will have no impact on your SNAP benefits.
If you are interested in participating, please call the voicemail line at 855-241-7536, mention the “Survey of SNAP and Work,” and leave your name, telephone number, and the best time to reach you. We will call you back to ask a few questions to determine if you are eligible.
If you are eligible, we will invite you to participate in the 60-minute interview. You will receive $40 cash for an in-person interview to offset any costs such as childcare or traveling that you may have incurred by your participation.
Please understand that we may not be able to interview everyone who contacts us at the number listed above.
If you have questions, send an email to [email protected] with “Survey of SNAP and Work” in the subject line. If you want to know more about Westat, please visit our website at: www.westat.com.
Sincerely,
The Recruiting Staff
