The U.S. Department of the Treasury requests OMB approval of information collection instruments to be used as part of a multi-year project, "Exploring the Potential for Information to Transform the Market for Higher Education." The focus group research will involve a total of approximately six focus groups (two focus groups at each of three Virginia high schools). The Treasury research team will conduct one focus group of six to eight twelfth grade students and one focus group with six to eight parents of twelfth grade students at each of the three schools. The focus groups will explore how families in Virginia make decisions regarding post-secondary education. The information gathered in the focus groups will be critical to informing the design of the overall project.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
