Purpose/Overview
• The purpose of this study is to learn about
new ways to help families provide food for
their children. Mathematica Policy Research
is conducting the study for the U.S.
Department of Agriculture.
• We are testing five projects located in three
states and two tribal nations.
• We will use study data to:

feed their children.
o Better understand how to help families
feed their children.

You will receive a letter when the study
starts. You will receive $30 if you complete
the phone survey. You will also be asked to
do up to two more phone surveys. You will
receive the thank-you payment for each
survey that your household completes.
You can choose not to be in the study. It
will not affect the nutrition assistance
or other services that you or your
household receives.

Timeline
• The first survey will start in early Fall 2015.
It will include about 26,500 parents/guardians
across the five projects.
• The second survey will start about one
year later.
• Some parents/guardians will be asked to
take part in a third survey. The third survey
will start about six months after the second
survey.

Confidentiality
• Mathematica has strict rules to protect the
security of all study data.
• We will keep private your responses to the
survey questions.
