This collection
of information is approved for two years. The next time that CMS
submits an ICR request to OMB for approval under this control
number, CMS should include a discussion in its supporting materials
analyzing the extent to which the structure of the technical
submission specifications has successfully enabled third party
software developers to create innovative and informative tools
based on the formulary and provider data authorized for collection
via this ICR. In addition, when revising the collection
requirements for the next submission, CMS should fully consider and
respond to every public comment received, including comments
regarding ideas for how to further improve the technical
specifications to promote innovation and ease of use.
