Abstract: In order to allow determination of the study areas that are entitled to an expense adjustment, and the wire centers that are entitled to high-cost universal service support, each incumbent local exchange carrer must provide certain data to the National Exchange Carrier Association annually and/or quarterly. Local telphone companies who want to partipate in the Federal universal service support program must make certain informational showings to demonstrate eligibility.

There is a decrease in the number of respondents from 1,162 to 1,095 (67), a decrease in the number of responses from 1,582 to 1,515 (67) and a decrease in the total annual burden hours from 34,804 to 33,330 (1,474).
