The Bee and Honey Survey provides
price and production statistics used by government agencies to
administer Federal programs. The availability of bee colonies is
crucial to many farming operations, particularly the fruit, nut,
and vegetable operations. This submission is being submitted early
to expand the target population to include operations with less
than five colonies and to add economic questions to both
questionnaires.

Operations with fewer than five
colonies are now being included in the survey. In addition there
are new economic questions that are included on both questionnaires
(operations with five or more colonies and operations with less
than five colonies). These proposed changes are in response to a
Presidential Initiative and to fulfill the requests of data
users.
