Terms of Clearance: Prior to the commencement of the 2017 Economic Census - Commodity Flow Survey (CFS) - Advance Questionnaire distribution, the Census Bureau shall provide on its Internet site prominent links to the finalized survey, including instructions and cover letters, comparable to those provided for the 2012 Economic Census. The final survey and letters shall reflect any changes in the survey year, OMB number expiration date, and Census leadership from those submitted for review.

Abstract: The Census Bureau will select a sample from U.S. manufacturing, mining, and wholesale establishments, enterprise support establishments, electronic shopping, mail-order houses, and publishing establishments. By collecting basic information about shipping activity and the total annual value of in-scope commodity goods shipped, the 2017 Advance Questionnaire for the Commodity Flow Survey (CFS) will greatly improve the sampling efficiency of auxiliary establishments in the 2017 CFS. In addition, the contact and address information collected will improve the reporting accuracy and timeliness of the 2017 CFS.
