The Agreement States are asked on a
one-time or as-needed basis to respond to a specific incident, to
gather information on licensing and inspection practices or other
technical and training-related information. In 2007, the NRC policy
changed to begin funding training for Agreement State materials
licensing and inspection staff and associated travel to attend
courses offered through the NRC training program. The results of
such information requests, which are authorized under Section
274(b) of the Atomic Energy Act, are utilized in part by the NRC in
preparing responses to Congressional inquiries. The Agreement State
comments are also solicited in the areas of proposed procedures,
implementing guidance, and in the development of new and revised
regulations and policies.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).

the proposed collection of information, that the certification

(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
