This IC request collects information
from State and local governments regarding their capabilities to
regulate and protect the food supply, as well as their capabilities
to respond in the event of an intra- or inter-state food safety
emergency. These capabilities are measured by a combination of the
resources devoted to specific activities and programs,
participation in regional and national collaborative efforts, IT
infrastructure, interagency agreements, and other data points. The
IC is a tool to measure the progress of State and local programs
over the past three years as a result of actions taken to address
the results of the initial review that was conducted in
2012.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
