SSA organizes and maintains pension plan information we receive from the IRS to which pension plan participants and administrations are entitled under the Social Security Act, Section 1131(a). Under 20 CFR 422.122(b), SSA may only disseminate this information if the requester submits a written request with identifying information to SSA. We use the identifying information the requester submits to verify the individual is to whom the pension information pertains. Respondents are requesters of pension plan information.
