NIH Workshop on the Enrollment and Retention of Participants in NIH-funded Clinical Trials Notice of Extension of Submission Deadline for Poster Abstracts
The abstract submission deadline has been extended to 11:59 p.m. (ET), July 3, 2014.
NIH invites attendees of the NIH Workshop on Enrollment and Retention of Participants in Clinical Trials to
submit abstracts that will be considered for poster presentations. The Workshop will take place on July 25,
2014, at the John Porter Neurosciences Building on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. Posters will be
presented before the workshop, from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (ET), and during the lunch break, from 12:30 p.m. –
1:30 p.m. (ET).
Poster presentations can be no bigger than 3’10’’ by 3’10’’ in size and should focus on innovative approaches
to address challenges to clinical trial enrollment and retention. Because the workshop is expected to attract an
audience that includes academics, clinicians, patients and patient advocacy organizations, public foundations,
and members of the public, posters should be accessible to a general audience.
New Deadline:
Abstracts for poster presentations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (ET), July 3, 2014. Whenever possible, the
presenting author should be the submitter of the abstract. We encourage early submission to ensure prompt
confirmation and processing.
Submissions:
Abstract submissions are now being accepted at [email protected]. Please limit submissions to one
abstract per organization/department. Due to space limitations, we can only accept 30-35 poster
presentations. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by an internal NIH committee and submitters will be
notified of abstract acceptance by the week of July 7, 2014. All accepted abstracts will be posted, along with
other Workshop materials, on the OSP website (http://osp.od.nih.gov) in early August 2014.
If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
Format:
The abstract is limited to 500 words (titles, authors and institution are not included in the word count). Please
use the following structure to prepare and submit your abstract. An abstract template can be found on the
OSP website (http://osp.od.nih.gov).
