The NASA Contracting Financial
Reporting System is the basic financial medium for contractor
reporting of estimated and incurred costs. The information
collected provides NASA with data necessary to project costs and
ensure Contractor performance is planned and Reports are necessary
supported by dollar and labor resources. The data provided by these
reports is an integral part of the Agency's accrural accounting and
cost-based budgeting systems required under 31

The burden reduction is
attributed to:(1) an increase in the number of fixed price
contracts, and (2) a decrease in the number of contracts meeting
the reporting criteria, which has been trending down over the past
three years.
