The Agency for International
Development (USAID) is collecting this additional information in
order to conduct screening of potential recipients of USAID
contracts, grants or other funding assistance. The information will
be used for screening of non-governmental organizations, both
profit and non-profit, who bid on contracts or apply for grants or
other funding assistance in order to prevent inadvertent support to
entities or individuals associated with terrorism. The respondents
are those non-governmental organizations or individuals applying
for USAId funding assistance.
The principal purpose of the
Partner Vetting System (PVS) Pilot Program vetting and other
enhanced vetting for USAID is to help mitigate the risk that USAID
funds and other resources could inadvertently benefit individuals
or entities that are terrorists, supporters of terrorists,
affiliated with terrorists while also minimizing the impact on
USAID programs and USAID’s implementing partners.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
