The information collections contained in the Interagency Guidance are needed by national banks and Federal savings associations (FSAs) to manage their asset securitization activities in a safe and sound manner. The OCC uses the information to evaluate the quality of a national bank's or FSA's risk management practices and to assist national banks and FSAs lacking proper supervision of their asset securitization activities with the implementation of corrective action to ensure that these activities are conducted in a safe and sound manner.
