SLAA FY 2016 changes to web tool and survey
Changes to the Web tool
IMLS has approved the following changes to the Web tool for the FY 2016 data collection:
1. Re-number questions in the web tool. The renumbering will include gaps in the
numbering between sections to save space for new additions or changes. This provides
some flexibility for future changes. This change means that item numbers are not
comparable from year to year. AIR will provide a cross-walk file that includes the
naming of the items on the data file and altering the usual nomenclatures to signal this
change to data users.
2. Add help button to the dashboard.
3. Create one login for cases where the key holder and state librarian are the same person.
4. Enable a timeout popup or other solution to prevent losing data because the survey has
timed out.
5. Make an adjustment to the status of the survey section on the dashboard and will add a
new status called “Incomplete” in addition to “Clean”, “Errors Exist”, and “Not Started”.
6. Emphasize instructions for how to generate a final version of the submitted report with
edits and justifications.
