DOJ's FBI Uniform Crime Reporting
(UCR) Program is requesting PRA approval of a revision to a
collection that requests information about law enforcement officers
killed or assaulted from local, state, tribal, and federal law
enforcement agencies for the purpose of the FBI UCR Program to
serve as the national clearing house for collection/dissemination
of incident data.
US Code:

USC 534 Name of Law: Acquisition, Preservation, and Exchange of
Identification Records; Appointment of Officials
There is no increase in burden
on the individual respondents; however, the overall annual burden
hours have increased. This is an increase from 184 to 188 which is
an increase of 4 due to the increase in the number of respondents.
The number of respondents will vary from year-to-ear because the
respondent is only contacted when a line-of-duty death/assault is
reported.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:

(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
