Record the random number that is displayed in the “Random Number Generated” column of the

If a randomly-generated number is the same as a previously-generated number, discard that
number, it will not count towards reaching the number of (question 9) sites. Be sure to replace
this discarded number with a valid number using steps ii and iii.

Choosing random numbers using a random number table (use if no internet connection is available)

DIRECTIONS: Start in row 1 and your columns from step ii. If the number in this position is valid
(i.e., between 1 and the total number of sites from (question 6)), then write it down in the
“Random Number Generated” column of the table in (question 12). If that number is not valid, do

EXAMPLE: If we have 45 sites and are looking in columns 10 and 11, we would start in row 1
and write down “25”, then “14” from row 2, then skip “63” and “99” in rows 3 and 4, since 63 and
99 are both above the total number of sites and continue similarly until the number of (question 9)
sites are chosen.
NOTE: if you reach row 30 and have not met the number of (question 9) sites, continue in row 1,
using the next set of columns to the right of the set just used (e.g., if we reached row 30 using
columns 10 and 11 and still needed to select more sites, we would start again in row 1 of columns
12 and 13).
If a randomly-generated number is the same as a previously-generated number, discard that
number, it will not count towards reaching the appropriate number of (question 9) sites. Be sure to
