This information collection consists
of a voluntary reporting form that the general public can use to
submit information regarding the catch and release of Atlantic
Highly Migratory Species (HMS; Atlantic tunas; swordfish, billfish,
and sharks). Submissions may be made via an online form and would
include information that could be posted on an interactive web map
(e.g., species caught, catch location, size). All submissions would
be voluntary and would be used to drive internet traffic to a
website to raise awareness for releasing HMS, HMS tagging programs,
and HMS research programs, and would not be used as representative
results. Respondents are most likely to be recreational HMS
fishermen, but could also include commercial HMS fishermen, and
recreational or commercial fishermen targeting non-HMS
species.
