To assess, on a population-level, the
current utilization of Zika prevention strategies targeted at women
of reproductive age (18-49 years) in Puerto Rico, and determine the
need for further refinements in educational messaging and
allocation of resources, as established during the first season of
the Zika outbreak.
CDC seeks Emergency
Clearance, as new outbreaks and an increased number of Zika cases
are expected as the summer travel and mosquito season approaches. A
delayed start to this study would mean that critical information
on; 1) the use of contraception among women wishing to avoid or
delay pregnancies, 2) the barriers to access and use of
contraception, 3) knowledge of and adherence to mosquito prevention
strategies, and 4) frequency of travel to areas with Zika
transmission and adherence to travel recommendations, would not be
able to be gathered.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
(vi) Need to display currently valid OMB control
number;
If you are unable to certify compliance with any of
these provisions, identify the item by leaving the box unchecked
