This study to learn how large retailers protect themselves from fraud and theft, and whether their policies and practices could be applied to prevent and reduce SNAP fraud on a broader scale. FNS research has found that large supermarkets and supermarket chains have the lowest rates of retailer fraud, and that smaller stores and convenience stores consistently have higher rates, most recently reported to be 10+ times higher.
