This collection is amending the
regulations governing the importation of fruits and vegetables to
allow the importation of female squash flowers from Israel into the
continental Unites States. This includes requirements for pest
exclusion at the production site and fruit fly trapping and
monitoring. The female squash flowers will also require the
accompaniment of a phytosanitary certificate issued by the NPPO of
Israel stating the flowers have been inspected and found free of
quarantine pests.
There is a program change in
this renewal due to the following burden items that were
inadvertently omitted from the previous renewal but are now
included in this information collection: Phytosanitary Certificates
(business); Production Site Registration (Foreign Government); and
Production Site Inspections (Foreign Government) (Business). The
number of annual responses increased from 10,458 to 11,091 due to
all of the additions above; and the number of burden hours
increased from 476 to 556 hours.
