Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Part 239, Acquisition of Information Technology, and associated clauses at DFARS 252.239-7000 and 252.239-7006
DFARS 252.239-7000, Protection Against Compromising Emanations, requires the contractor to provide documentation that information technology used or provided under the contract meets information assurance requirements. DFARS 252,.239-7006, Tariff Information, requires the contractor to provide tariff-related information. DFARS 239.7408, requires the contracting officer to obtain a special construction proposal from a common carrier that submits a proposal that has special construction requirements related to the performance of basic telecommunication services.
The change in results from using fiscal year 2016 data from the EDA system, which reflects the actual number of contracts that include the two clauses in lieu of using more generalized information from the Federal Procurement Data System. Information for the DFARS 239.7408 requirement was obtained from the Government subject matter experts within the agency that has responsibility for telecommunications and reflects reductions in numbers of respondents and hours. This reduction accommodates the fact that, given the current state of technology, common carriers do not typically require new (special) construction in response to Government telecommunication requirements.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
