Changes to the Floriculture questionnaire for 2017
The title of the survey has been changed from Commercial Floriculture Survey to Commercial Horticulture Survey.
In 2016 on the NASS annual Floriculture Survey in Hawaii, NASS collected limited data for nursery and other horticultural type crops:
Section 8 - Landscape plant material, sod and other floriculture/nursery materials,
Section 10 – Area used for production for both floriculture and nursery crops.
In 2017 for the Hawaii survey, some additional nursery and horticultural data will be collected.
In Section 8 - It was expanded to ask for - Food crops grown under cover,
In Section 10 - In the questions that asked for total area, total sales, peak number of workers, etc. for the floriculture or nursery portion of the operation, this has been expanded to horticultural crops.
