The mandatory requirements of the
NRCAR implement and supplement the government-wide Federal
Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and ensure that the regulations
governing the procurement of goods and services with the NRC
satisfy the particular needs of the agency. Because of differing
statutory authorities among Federal agencies, the FAR permits
agencies to issue a regulation to implement FAR policies and
procedures internally to satisfy the specific need of the
agency.
The overall burden has
increased by 17,242 hours, from 20,095 to 37,337 hours (34,393
Reporting and 2,944 Recordkeeping hours) because of the staff’s re-
estimates of burden and responses based on recent history over the
past three years. The number of responses increased by 742 from
4,871 to 5,613.
