The Wage and Hour Division has discovered that OSHA regulations prohibit fire extinguishers (with 1 ½ quart Carbon Tetrachloride) as described in the Form WH-514 item #21 instructions. OSHA regulations at 1910.157(c)(3) prohibits employers from providing portable fire extinguishers using Carbon Tetrachloride. The Wage and Hour Division has made the correction as shown so the form no longer conflicts with OSHSA regulations as described.
