Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) Data Form for Medicare Advantage (MA) Plans and Prescription Drug Plans (PDP)

The November 28, 2017 (82 FR 56336) proposed rule (CMS-4182-P, RIN 0938-AT08) serves as the 60-day Federal Register notice.

Comment

We support the reduction of burden in the MLR reporting, however, we request that CMS continue to produce and make available form CMS-10476. This form is very useful in our calculations for the MLR.

Response

CMS appreciates the support. CMS intends to continue to make available the prior years’ MLR Report on the CMS website (CMS.gov) as well as in the Health Plan Management System (HPMS). Therefore, the commenter can continue to utilize the prior years’ more detailed MLR Reports to assist with their MLR calculations. Note that, as a result of this comment and response, CMS is not taking any action such as revising a requirement or burden estimate.
