Abstract: Section 1059 of Title 10 requires the Department of Defense to make payments to abused dependents of military members convicted or administratively separated for abuse. In order to make these payments, dependents must fill out DD Form 2698 in order to ensure the dependent meets the statutory requirements and to ensure payments are made to the correct recipient for the required amount of time.
