The purpose of this project is to
describe nonfatal occupational injuries and exposures incurred by
law enforcement officers and treated in a sample of emergency
departments (EDs). Data will be collected via telephone interviews.
The results of this study will provide detailed insight into the
incidence and characteristics of nonfatal occupational injuries and
exposures among law enforcement officers. This information will
increase awareness of the need to implement and improve prevention
efforts and, consequently, reduce occupational injuries and
illnesses among law enforcement officers.
